Accreditation
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) accredits Veterinary Technology Programs. Ashworth College has applied for accreditation through the AVMA CVTEA and the application has been accepted. New programs are eligible to receive initial accreditation after a CVTEA site visit. Students must have completed approximately 2/3 of the program prior to the site visit. The CVTEA is scheduled to perform an initial site visit in February of 2018.
Application for accreditation does not guarantee accreditation. All students who graduate after accreditation has been granted will be recognized as graduates of an accredited Veterinary Technology Program. For more information on the AVMA, visit www.avma.org.
Clinical Veterinary Technician Experience
Apply the skills you acquire in a real-world environment while you learn with Ashworth’s Veterinary Technician clinical experience opportunities. Ashworth will assist our students in locating a facility where they can complete the 270 hours of clinical experience required for graduation. And, unlike other vet tech programs, clinical experience hours are included in each semester. In addition to the opportunities we offer, students may also be able to make their own clinical experience arrangements with approved facilities.
